   Four Speed Box

We have been asked to Re_engineer the selection mechanism of one of the few four speed boxes remaining in captivity. These were mostly all recalled in the thirties due to a selection problem and the regular joke was that they had four gears and 16 neutrals.

Roger is here grinding an angle on the front of the dogs as part of his solution to the problem .
The dogs are all worn on the corners due to the frequency with which they jumped out, because of the insufficiently definate selection method originally used.

The Full Story of the Scott Four Speed box and Rogers decision to recreate it for his racer back in the 1980's can be found on the stories page here .
